When SPASA launched the Climate Care Certified (CCC) program in 2018 we had one goal — to set new efficiency and sustainability benchmarks for products, services and installations across the entire swimming pool and spa industry.
We developed CCC to support and promote the way our industry members operate and to ensure we strive as a whole for the best possible sustainability outcomes for pool owners.
To achieve certification, all products, systems, installations, retrofits and construction projects must possess or promote the following qualities:
water efficiency and sustainability
energy efficiency
noise reduction measures
environmentally sustainable design
innovation in efficiency and sustainability
Not all products are created equal
Climate Care Certified is a voluntary program. That means certified manufacturers, vendors and service providers are serious about the industry and the environment and are committed to delivering choice and innovations that provide consumers with peace of mind.
Our aim is to cover the complete gamut of swimming pool and spa products and services including:
pool covers
spa lids
backwash treatment and recycling systems
pre-filtration devices or backwash minimising systems
cartridge filters
filter media
pool pumps
noise reduction measures
LED pool lighting
heat pumps
solar heating systems
smart metres and controllers
pool cleaners
construction, installation and renovations of pools and spas
retrofitting products and systems to existing pools and spas.

Independent verification
Certified products undergo independent third-party testing and verification to assess and report on claims being made, such as measurable water efficiency and energy savings. SPASA only considers credible and trusted local, national and international testing and verification bodies to ensure that claims are able to be substantiated.
